7 Things About Me

A challenge was put out by my blogger friend, Screaming MeMe to list 7 things that folks may not know about you. Here it goes:

1. I was born March the 4th 1965 to an unwed mother and raised by my grandparents. Needless to say I was spoiled rotten. Given everything I wanted, just had to ask. My grandfather is a retired minister and mechanic. I remember that on Saturdays he'd take me to the shop with him and we'd hang out. He's talk to me about the cars and what he was doing and I'd pretend that I understood and drink cokes all day long. There was alittle lady that my grandfather would pick up and drop off for church and every Sunday night after we'd drop the lil ole lady off we'd go by the all night donut shop and get chocolate covered donuts....YUMMY! My grandmother worked in retail. At the Top Value store. I'd go to work with her in the summertime and she'd let me help her in the store. They were the greatest influence on my life. They showered me with unending love. It saddens my heart to see what time has taken from them.

2. I met the love of my life when I was 13. I forced my mom into letting us get married when I was 15. I'll save you the sorted details of how because my daughter reads this blog. We had a baby boy not long after and thus began a love affair that remains today. That sweet boy became my everything. Twenty one months later we added a baby girl who was so adored and still is to this day. We eventually added 2 more girls and completed our family. The road hasn't always been easy. We've seen some very rough times. But we prevailed because love overcomes all. Our lifes haven't been perfect, but we've finally arrived to best times of our lives. We are best friends, soul mates, biker buddies, MiMi and PiPi...lol. Our children have grown into 4 of the most beautiful, well adjusted, high achieving kids in the face of adversity that I've ever seen. We've now got 4 gorgeous grandkids that we're loving to bits and pieces. Family is EVERYTHING to me and I thank God for them everyday.

3. I love to sing. I don't know that I'm all that good, but I love to try. In the shower, in the car, in the living room, with my praise team.

4. I have a significantly large case of road rage. I think all people that are driving slower then me should get off the road. Get off your phone while you are driving. I'm the only one that can drive and talk at the same time. If you can't drive normal in the rain/snow.....STAY HOME. Stay out of the fast lane if you're driving slower then me. Why do you pull out in front of me only to drive 10 mph and then turn left immediately after pulling out in front of me. DON'T tailgate me, I will slam on my breaks. You know the lanes are merging, why do you try to run up in front of the line of traffic. Oh its cuz your time is more important then mine. . .lol

5. I could watch reruns of the Cosby Show, Designing Women, Golden Girls and the black and white episodes of Andy Griffith all day along.

6. I absolutely refuse to watch the Notebook even though I've been urged to do so by many people. It is to close to my families reality and I just can't bring myself to watch it. I will however watch Steel Magnolias, Dirty Dancing, Shawshank Redemption and Sleeping with the Enemy everytime it comes on.

7. I'm a total nut when it comes to LSU football. I am a diehard fan. Win or lose, they are my boys. I also have a soft spot for the Golden Band from Tigerland of which my oldest daughter was a member for 4 years. Piccs rule!

This is prolly more then 7 but maybe its something more then you knew before :)
